Fun with hands-free suction cup dildo rides, how do ya pull it off??? When I first grabbed a small anal dildo, its suction cup base intrigued me – but stuck me with new questions too. Where to stick this a suction cup dildo for anal, to make the motion actually work?
In the 5 years since, I’ve learned: to position a suction cup dildo for anal sex, you gotta have both the right spot to stick it, and the right angle with your body. I’ve tested a couple dozen silicone suction cup toys, so I’ll describe which suction dildos work better as hands-free anal toys, for men or women!
Where to Position Anal Suction Cup Dildos
Some positions for “where to stick a suction cup dildo” are easier than others. But all fall into 2 categories:
You’re either on top of the suction cup dildo, or you’re backing up into it.
Ride-on-Top dildo positions
#1. Smooth Chair or Closed Toilet Lid.
Positioning a suction cup toy on a smooth chair (plastic or wooden) or a toilet cover is an obvious choice – readily available, and easy to wipe down after. Here, you can alternate between (1) rocking forward, keeping your hands on the chair beside your thighs; and (2) riding straight up and down by working your legs. Ease rating: 1 out of 5.
#2. Bathtub Edge.
This works if you have a certain standard bathtub, and your suction cup dildo base isn’t too wide for its outside ledge. One knee will be inside the tub, so you’re straddling the edge. Your outside knee will then be lower – so get a sturdy blanket, a couple towels, etc. outside next to the tub, to equalize your knees’ height.
Here, you’ll be getting more upper-body workout, as you use your arms and shoulders to push your body up and down. Ease rating: 3 out of 5.
#3. Tile Floor.
Also super-simple. On the tile / laminate floor, you’re going to be either sitting flat on the dildo and rocking your hips,
Or you can get an extra long dildo and position your body on all fours. (More a “back-that-thing-up” style, next.) Either way, you might want soft towels or knee pads for this, since hard flooring is of course harder on the knees. Ease rating: 2 out of 5.
#4. Paint Can. 👍
This works if (1) you have a clean paint can, so you’re not getting paint from the lid actually on your suction cup dildo; (2) the can is heavy / full. You can try an empty plastic paint can and add various weights inside, at least 15 pounds, so it rocks less as you ride down on it. This is a type of suction cup dildo mount!
Here, you’d want to brace yourself against a wall, to push off on, with the weighted paint can several feet behind your. Ease rating: 3.5 out of 5.
With all “on top” anal positions, you’ll be leaning forward or backward as you move – and maintaining great momentum is a workout. If you’re moving your body-weight up and down, you’re fighting gravity more. Relying on your quads, calves and ass when on top. The load is lessened if you go on all fours:
Back-That-Thing-Up dildo positions
These backing-up positions are easier to maintain your pace with. There, you use your arms and upper body as a brace, rocking back and forth: From hands to knees, and repeat. Finding the right place to stick the anal suction cup dildo to is key.
#5. Stainless Steel Trash Can. 👍
Here you’ll need a nice smooth (clean) can, and you stick the suction cup dildo on its side. Then, put one leg on each side of the can, and you can ride doggy back-and-forth onto it. Adjust the dildo’s height on the can, till it’s at the right angle for your bod.
You may want to add extra weights inside, so the can remains stably on the floor as you rock n ride against it.
Some cabinets / nightstands / small shelves may work similarly: Mine happen to be wide so I’m not able to fully spread my legs backward (“doggy” positioning) to keep up the pace. Ease rating: 4 out of 5.
#6. Smooth Doorway Molding, or Protruding Wall Section. 👍👍
You’re looking to locate a section of wall or the smooth interior of a doorframe – if this exists in your home. I formerly had a place whose bathroom included a sticking-out wall area, like a flattened column you can put one leg on each side of, then back your rear-end up. (No more!)
Here, we have a certain edge that lets me lean forward against the opposing wall, about 3 feet in front:
The point here is that you have a place to brace your weight against, keep the motion going easier vs. in any other anal suction cup dildo location! Ease rating: 4.5 out of 5.
7. Shower Wall. 👎
A classic idea, using a suction cup dildo in the shower. I recommend not doing it while the shower is running, however. Play before you rinse off, so you’re not slipping on water, water isn’t making your dildo’s suction cup slide around, and it’s not drying out your sex.
With shower-wall stuck suction dildos, for anal usage you’re having to back up – so your legs are either in the way, or you’re needing to lean forward to keep moving / make the momentum work. This, I think, is the most troublesome anal dildo position to manage. Ease rating: 1 out of 5.
Your home’s arrangement, wall partitioning, and your furniture will make a difference. Explore to find where is the best place to stick a suction cup dildo in your living quarters, with these top anal suction dildo spots in mind. But with any location or position, I’ve found that soft + body-safe anal dildos are more comfortable:
Favorite Anal Suction Cup Dildos
These are our favorite dildos for using suction-cupped (Lila’s is the Neo Elite, and mine is SquarePeg’s plush silicone for thick anal.) All these are made of body-safe silicone. These suction cup dildos don’t let bacteria grow like cheap “real feel” dildos do, cracking and degrading over time.
- Wyatt soft silicone by SquarePegToys. Love this soft silicone dildo’s tapered shape: it gradually expands as you back your butt up into it, also making the soft silicone less floppy. Nice protruding ridge gently massages the prostate. Press down firmly before riding Wyatt, for best suction.
- Neo Elite 7.5″ dual-density dildo. Her favorite, the Neo E. 7.5″ dual-density silicone has a small head, and the 7″ usable works stuck against a door even (if you only want 5″ inserted like Lila). Dual-density means it’s soft outside, but the firm core stabilizes. Plenty of realistic textures on this silicone dildo, and the strongest suction cup here.
- VixSkin Mustang – works on a very smooth surface, push down extra-hard. If you’re into pegging, the Mustang is just quintessential. An all-time great toy. Soft, soft prostate thrusting. Sticks on flat stainless steel (Hismith suction cup, trash can side) decently well.
- SquarePegToys Leo. For the extra length + flex if you’re into deeper penetration. A+ skin textures in revised Leo, post-2022. This is the only sigmoid-bend probing dildo that’s easy for me to take. That applies to Leo in Actual Size (8″ insertable length) the Leo small size is 6.85″ insertable L.
I’m a fan of anal width stretching, but not colon depth play so much. Yet, I still will choose longer anal dildos often for suction cup usage. The extra length enables a longer “out-stroke,” without the dildo requiring re-insertion.
Essential: Pick up an excellent anal lubricant. Most water-based lubricants are acidic, drying, and often contain glycerin that’s irritating to the rectal mucosa.
These tips should give you ideas about where to explore sticking your dildo – so you’re not metaphorically hitting yourself in the face trying to figure out how suction cup dildos work, lol. But, remember that anal thrusting is more stressful on the anal sphincter muscles vs. stationary butt-plugging, so read about how to warm-up for anal dildo sessions:
How to Use a Suction Cup Dildo for Anal Sex
Anal Sex Preparation
When preparing for anal sex or butt plug wear, you can choose to douche or skip it – it’s all down to personal preference. Some people are more squicked out by a trace of poop or slight anal odor that dissipates from silicone after a day or two, than others. I typically do not douche, and think it’s still easy to clean up toys after.
Sizing up slowly and using enough lubricant are the most important bits for anal sex preparation. You don’t want to try taking a toy that’s more than about 1″ circumference / 0.3″ diameter more versus your previous comfortable maximum girth. Otherwise, you may over-stress your anal sphincter muscles and can create fissures inside your butt.
When inserting an anal dildo, you work the tip in gently, first. The key: you’re seducing your hole, not forcing it. It should begin to pull the toy inward, as you apply light pressure under the dildo’s base. If it’s not sliding in, you either need more lubricant, or you just need to take your time. No rush.
And after you’re finished: Also remember to remove your anal toys slowly, do not yank them out. This will help prevent unwanted mess, as well as not injure you. Also, if you’ve had an anal orgasm, give your ass a few minutes of not doing anything before you try to pull the anal toy out, too. Your ass contracts at orgasm (even during penile orgasm!), and needs a moment to chill out after.
How to Secure a Suction Cup Dildo
Once you find your preferred anal suction cup dildo location, you’ll want to:
- Grip firmly around the bottom of the dildo’s shaft,
- then press its suction cup down, hard.
- Press very firmly, a long push down onto the surface below, to get air out.
Pushing down hard evacuates air remaining under the suction cup, so it seals better – this is most true when the dildo’s suction cup has a more concave (rounded) shape naturally. (Some suction cups are flatter vs. others.)
And: You’re likely to get better sticky-sticky hold if you apply the dildo suction cup to a smooth surface. Textured wood grain or spiky walls… might work for a while if you’re not riding hard, but are not secure suction cup dildo positions in the end.
If you’re applying more of your body weight hard against a wall-mounted dildo, too, you’re more likely to pull it off the wall!
Easiest Anal Dildo Thrusting
Using a suction cup dildo is a quick and cheaper way to achieve hands-free sex – so you’re not trying to jerk the dildo into your rectum manually, you’re riding on the suction cup dildo instead.
But, the disadvantage of suction cup dildos is that you’re expending energy by powering the ride. You’re leaning forward and pushing back and forth, you’re moving your bod up and down over a chair or toilet seat over the suction cup dildo, etc. It’s a workout!!!
And sometimes with prostate dildos especially, you want to be in a more relaxed mindset. Basically, you’re not going to exactly re-create pegging or anal sex with a human partner, via a suction cup dildo.
A sex machine is the very closest thing to getting pegged, if you’re solo. A good machine (with sufficient torque to not stop thrusting when used for anal dildos) will run you a few hundred bucks. (Plus you’ll want a silicone dildo to stick on it, so you’re not putting plasticizers or a softened TPE dildo that can grow mold, into your ass.) A decent fucking machine’s 100 times worth it for really easy penetration.
I got a fucking machine (a Hismith Premium) a couple years ago. I was so excited about not having to move my own body to create momentum. The machine does all the work, and – though hyper-speed is not needed for prostate orgasms – it can go very fast or start very slow, and does not stall out if I’m backing my ass up into it, as it runs slowly and I take my favorite prostate dildo on it. You just twist the controller knob to adjust as much as you want, speed up / slow down. Just great.
