The Blunt Plug is the Egg Plug’s super-stretcher cousin. Both plug sets by SquarePegToys come in Super-soft silicone, IMO the best anal sex toy material. Yet the two SquarePeg plug lines have different purposes.
Blunt Plugs’ wider neck will keep the anal sphincter muscles more open – for easier entry, a smoother transition into thrusting sex, after you remove a Blunt Plug.

Blunt Plug Size Specifications
Blunt Plugs’ diameter, insertable length, and neck width for each of the 11 Egg Plug sizes by SquarePegToys. “Circumference” is abbreviated to “Circ.” below. All dimensions given in inches. Multiply by 2.54 to get cm.
Because the Blunt Plug is oval / “ovoid,” not spherical, it’s marginally wider top-to-bottom vs. left-to-right – hence, two maximum diameters taken at the same Blunt Plug cross-section.

Therefore this metric may vary up to 0.15″ from what you’re able to take while sitting on top of the Egg Plug. On the “S” series: All Blunt Plugs with “S” before a number (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6) are the easier training options. Each S-plug is smaller than the “XS” / Extra Small Blunt Plug. Don’t be confused by the name “extra small.” At over 2.5″ diameter, the XS Blunt Plug is BIG.

Using SquarePegToys Blunt Plug, my favorite size
The S6 is a big plug that prepares me well for thrusting. The best warmup, prior to pegging or fuck-machine sessions. It gets my ass ready for girthy toys like the VixSkin Maverick, Steve 1X or Hismith 9.1″ dildo. I wear this Blunt Plug for ≈ 30 minutes beforehand.
I am able to wear the Blunt Plugs in the S-series around my home. (S3 through S6, at least. S1 and S2 are tiny for me.) Sometimes I like that extra fullness, holding my sphincters open more.
In contrast: Starting with “extra small” Blunt Plug, these large butt plugs will want to fall out. Unless I’m sitting directly on top, they begin to slide, my ass wanting to contract and push.
Medium, Large and Extra Large are gigantic anal toys. I’ve sized up to the 3XL Egg Plug for short bursts (not for long-term wear). These bigger Blunt Plugs are even more. I’m close to taking the Large Blunt, but the XL – well, I may get there some day!
Blunt Plug Design
Blunt Plugs have a simple design. Not too complicated; pure width for anal stretching. Every Blunt has a smooth, indeed blunt tip – not much taper. You may need to pregame via a smaller butt plug, or many fingers, prior to inserting a Blunt Plug that’s wider than your normal comfortable size.
The Blunt Plug’s base is a rounded rectangle, substantially flared. It’s big but very comfortable to sit on, due to the very soft silicone.
Designed for maximum fullness, you may be able to wear the smaller Blunt Plugs around, for some time. Or a butt plug harness may be needed to keep the Blunt from sliding out.
Blunt Plug Size vs. other Butt Plug Classics
The Blunt Plug is most similar to the Egg Plug – with added “neck” thickness. Recap: A Blunt Plug‘s advantage is, it keeps your sphincters spread wider, so it’s good warmup for thrusting sex.
While the Egg Plug is easier to wear around during the day, especially in the big-but-not-Monster sizes. (L/XL size is my max. comfortable size for extended / all-day wear.) Both lines of platinum butt plugs are the same SuperSoft silicone, so comparing is easier:
- S1 Blunt Plug. S(mall) Egg Plug is ⬆️ (bigger) slightly. M Egg Plug is a big step-up – a real stretch.
- S2 Blunt Plug. M Egg Plug is ⬆️, slightly. S Egg Plug is ⬇️.
- S3 Blunt Plug. L Egg Plug is ⬆️, reasonable step. M Egg Plug is about 🟰 girth, but wider neck.
- S4 Blunt Plug. L Egg Plug is slightly⬆️, its neck especially. L/XL Egg Plug is a big step-up.
- S5 Blunt Plug. L/XL Egg Plug is a great ⬆️ increase, reasonable. M Egg Plug is ⬇️.
- S6 Blunt Plug. XL Egg Plug is a reasonable ⬆️.
- XS Blunt Plug. 2XL Egg Plug is a reasonable ⬆️.
- Small Blunt Plug. Close to XS Blunt Plug’s max. bulb width, but Small has a much wider neck. 2XL Egg Plug will be a reasonable step ⬆️, not as demanding. 3XL Egg Plug is a challenging step-up.
- Medium Blunt Plug. 3XL Egg Plug makes sense for moving ⬆️. Or go 2XL (or even just XL) for ⬇️, easier wear.
- Large Blunt Plug. Monster Egg Plug is ⬆️ max. width, challenging but achievable with patience.
- XL Blunt Plug. Plugs 11″ circumference + are rare. Splitter, Large, by SquarePeg is one.
Converting from Super-Soft silicone to harder materials – steel, glass, or firm silicone – isn’t exact. If you’re not new to anal, you should be able to safely manage a Blunt Plug that’s 0.4″ diameter wider (1.25″ circumference more) than your closest firmer butt plug. That’s in contrast with normal safe-stretching guidelines: Don’t increase more than 1″ circumference / 0.32″ diameter (or less) as you step-up in size.
Since the Blunt Plug’s super-soft silicone compresses more easily as you gradually insert it, you might think it feels a small percentage narrower than it is outside the rectum. But make no mistake, the Blunt Plugs get huge – so choose your size carefully!
